Today’s reality for teachers

The teacher assigns homework to the students to practice the material they have gone over, then checks it at the next lesson. He asks if they have done it and if they had a problem with anything.  If someone had difficulties with any of the tasks of difficulty, the teacher will quickly explain how it should be. And then they proceed to explain further material.

When it’s time for the exam, the teacher sets questions, and students try to calculate the answers in the set time. The teacher collects the tests and the process of marking and grading begins. Either they do it at school or at home. The teacher goes from paper to paper and gradually marks question by question. Finally, they count the points awarded on each paper and give a grade accordingly. In the class, they return the marked graded test papers to the students. They give an overall summary and point out the holes in knowledge that the exam has revealed. If there is room to go over the most common mistakes, they do so. If not, the next lesson continues.

This is how it goes throughout the school year. Homework and regular exams. The teacher gradually gives grades to students from their oral answers and from tests on the classification sheet or in the pupil’s electronic record book. The grades indicate the level of knowledge of individual students from the subject.

Each teacher has their own system to evaluate and classify students as best and accurately as possible. In doing so, they use the grades that the student has obtained and the notes that they have made for each student. These reflect the student’s activity and overall approach to the subject. It takes some time for the teacher to determine the final grade of each student.

At the end of the semester, assessment is most intense as the time for school reports approaches.

Can the processes described above be simplified, accelerated or made more accurate?

Reality for teachers with eCoach

The teacher assigns homework to the students to practice the material they have gone over. This is done within the eCoach application. Before the next lesson, the teacher generates marking protocols in eCoach. The teacher then gains an overall and individual overview how individual students mastered the tasks, and has detailed information about what the students could handle and what they had a problem with. They can prepare for the lesson. The teacher re-explains to the students the material that caused them problems in the practice tasks. It is fast, accurate and targeted. The teacher does not need to ask the students to hand in their homework. eCoach has told the teacher exactly how the students are doing at mastering the material.

Učiteľka za laptopom s eCoachom     When it’s time for the exam, the teacher starts by pre-entering the questions into the eCoach app. Students then calculate the answers using the same eCoach app in class.  The teacher continuously monitors how the students are handling the tasks. They know that they don’t have to spend time collecting in the papers and doing lengthy marking and grading. eCoach does everything for them. It is much more detailed and accurate. And especially quicker. When the exam is finished, it is marked and graded immediately for each student. The teacher generates the grade summary and has an overview of who did what. What the student mastered easily and what material caused problems. The teacher has an overview of the whole class and knows exactly what else they need to discuss and practice in order for the students to improve. It is simple, fast, accurate, focused, time-saving. Simply eCoach.

This is how it works throughout the school year. Homework and regular exams are done via eCoach. The teacher has an overview of what exactly the student can manage and what he needs. It has detailed assessments and statistics.  They’re accurate. In a few clicks.

Marking and grading students using eCoach is simpler, easier, more accurate and faster for teachers. It takes considerably less time than traditional methods. Therefore, at the end of the semester, teachers do not need to do any long marking sessions.
